The weekend started out great. On Friday night I went out to dinner with my sister, brother in-law and niece, which is always fun. Then Saturday I spent most of the day doing little things around the house and then just being lazy. That is until it was time to go over and see a sweet little six year old niece of mine.
We had ourselves a little pizza/movie date while her mommy and daddy went out and had a date of their own. We watched my favorite Disney movie of all time, Beauty and the Beast and I totally cried at the end. I mean fireworks and inanimate objects turning into humans and weddings. Oh, the emotion.
{On a semi-related note when i was little I LOVED Angela Lansbury, pretty much just because her name was Angela and I had never heard of anyone else with my name.}
Then she got her bath, ate a bedtime snack, brushed her teeth and headed off to bed. But only after I read her three chapters of "Junie B. Jones Dumb Bunny". We heart that Junie B. Jones. The only problem is that Kaylee isn't allowed to say dumb, so I kept referring to Junie's freneny May as 'not so smart bunny'. And then there's the part about aunt Bunny with all the skull tattoos, but that's another post for another day. I would like to add that all of this happened while simultaneously watching the Seahawks smack the Saints.
Needless to say Jason and Kimberly were more than impressed that she was in bed AND asleep when they got home and also that I had a more in depth recap of the game than Sports Center. I know, I'm pretty good.
Sunday morning I got up, had my normal Jethro Bodine bowl of Honey Nut Cherrios and then started to get ready for church. I hopped in Blanche just a few minutes late and she zoomed me down the road. I really enjoyed teaching my little 1st and 2nd graders in Sunday School and then in the worship service I was really inspired by the message.
We had family lunch and then we settled in to watch the Chiefs and Ravens. I was rooting for the Chiefs but I really do not care for the AFC anyway. At 4:30 it was time for the main event. I cheered as my boys took the field. Green and gold course through my veins y'all!
I cheered. I yelled. I barked. I may have even almost peed my pantaloons at one time. But I didn't. And I definitely made many a comment or fifty-two about how handsome Clay Matthews is. Or how I would love to brush his hair.
I sat on the edge of my seat and said 'Come on Clay!' or 'Yay, Aaron!' or maybe 'KUHHHHNNNN!' and 'TRAMON!!!' Tramon, oh Tramon. I heart you for catching that interception in the end zone, but please for the sake of my cardiovascular health, please, please realize next time that the play is not over and drop to the ground! Oh, the tears I would have shed if that play had ended differently.
But, Clay's smiling cause WE WON! Now it's on to Atlanta to pluck some dirty birds!
After the game we quickly became aware that we would soon be in the midst of a winter weather situation, which around here is not normal. And then early this morning the snow started and is still coming down. This is the second big snow we have gotten in as many weeks and oh my am I over it! I mean a day off, where I may or may not sleep until noon, that's awesome, but not being able to get out of my driveway and everything being closed anyway? UGH!
I'm just hoping that the power and/or cable does not go out tonight. Because I have to be able to watch the National Championship game tonight! I am rooting for an Oregon win. I have never really been an Auburn fan, to say the least, nor am I a Cam Newton fan. Plus, I have developed a new exercise regime. I'm going to do the pushups along with Puddles...so hopefully I'll be pretty buff by the end of the night!
Y'all have a great Monday + Go Ducks! xo
